Back to School – Info

• School starts for Years 7, 12 on Tuesday, 3/9/2024, and for all other students on Wednesday,
  4/9/2024.
• the school day starts at 08:30 promptly and students can be dropped off from 07:45.

Staff will be available throughout these days to support students and families as required.

Changes to Timings and Structure of the School Day

Although this will have little impact on parents, we have made some slight timing and structural changes to the school day for 2024/25:

• The school day will finish 5 minutes later than this year at 3:00. Pick-up and buses will run as normal. We will continue to allow Year 7 to leave 5 minutes early in the first few terms while they get used to their transport arrangements.
• Drop-off and pick-up will be at the same timings. Please be aware the drop of layout will be changing, as per my previous letter but this will be well signposted.

The school day will now start with period one lessons – meaning that lessons will start promptly at 08:30– when their teacher will collect them from the playground. Form time will now take place in the middle of the day. This will show on timetables from September.

Year 11 parents have been written to regarding the extended day until 4:00 for all Year 11 students – this is vital to enhance their GCSE study and is compulsory.
