Poetry Live

On Friday 24^th January we took 37 Yr11 students to Poetry Live at the Apollo Theatre in Victoria, London.

Schools from across the country were attended the event, that featured poets the students study reading their work and answering questions on the poems, including Poet Laureate Carol Ann Duffy and former Poet Laureate Simon Armitage. There were also two really useful sessions from an examiner on how to approach the unseen poetry.

Student favourite John Agard finished the day with mesmerising performances of his poems Half Caste and Checking Out Me History.

Students will have gained first-hand information from the poets that they could use in their exams.
