Open Evening – Cancellation/ Reschedule

Dear Prospective Parents/Students,

As you may be aware, at Wrotham School, we are currently well underway with our new £49,000,000 school rebuild. This is a significant construction project taking place on the school site.

We have ensured that the learning and experiences of our students are protected throughout the build, and we are confident that their experience will not be compromised by this exciting development. However, this has seriously restricted the site for parking. We had hoped to maintain an open evening provision in 2024, but unfortunately, due to these restrictions, we simply cannot accommodate large volumes of visitors on-site at one time.

With just under 100 remaining parking spaces and over 600 visitors signed up for the open evening, it is with regret that we have had to make the decision to cancel this event on 19th September 2024.

As a school, we understand how important it is for parents and children to visit the school they are considering attending. Therefore, to compensate for this cancellation, we will be extending our afterschool tours and Headteacher talks to ensure we can accommodate everyone for a visit, group tour, and Headteacher talk.

In our experience, open evenings tend to be less personal and overcrowded. Our small group tours will allow you to speak to staff and the leadership team, including myself, personally, and to ask the important questions that matter to you and your family.

We apologise for any inconvenience this may have caused, but the restrictions on space have been, even with the best of intentions, difficult to foresee.
